The Bird on the Balcony

Last winter, a small brown bird visited Amal's balcony every morning. It arrived at seven and sang a short, happy song. At first, Amal watched it quietly from behind the window. Then she put some seeds and water on the small table. The bird ate the seeds and drank a little water. Day after day, the bird came closer and closer to Amal. One cold morning, the bird did not come, and Amal felt sad. She waited by the window for a long time that day. The next day, the bird returned with another small bird. Amal laughed because now she had two little guests. She read a book about nature and learned they were sparrows. In spring, the two birds built a small nest near her balcony. Amal is going to plant flowers in pots for her little friends.
