Grandfather's First Video Call

My grandfather got a smartphone for his seventieth birthday last week. He looked at the box and said, "I don't need this." But my uncle lives far away in Canada with his children. Grandfather misses him a lot because they only talk twice a year. So I sat with grandfather and turned on the phone. I showed him the screen, the camera, and the green call button. First, he touched the screen too hard, and nothing happened. Then he tried again slowly, and my uncle's face appeared. Grandfather laughed and almost dropped the phone on the floor. They talked for one hour about the farm and the old days. Now grandfather makes a video call every Friday after lunch. He says the smartphone is his favorite gift because it brings family closer.
