The Family Garden

My family lives in a small house with a sunny garden. Last spring, my father had an interesting idea for us. He said, "We are going to grow our own vegetables together." My little brother Samir wanted tomatoes, and I chose carrots. My mother planted mint because she loves tea with fresh leaves. Every evening, we watered the plants and pulled out the weeds. Samir talked to his tomatoes, and we all laughed at him. After two months, we saw small red tomatoes on the plants. Samir was so proud, and he picked the first one carefully. That weekend, we made a big salad from our own garden. My grandmother came for dinner and said it was the best salad ever. Now our family spends more time together, and our garden grows bigger every month.
